We believe that by empowering the people of Culebra to grow their own food and share in the harvest, we can strengthen the island’s food sovereignty, ensuring access to locally-produced food that is essential for a healthy population. Our focus on agricultural education is aimed at inspiring and teaching both youth and adults the skills necessary for long-term sustainability.
In addition, we are developing sustainable agrotourism initiatives that invite visitors to experience Culebra’s unique agricultural practices. By connecting tourism with sustainable farming, we seek to build an economy that supports both the environment and the community, while promoting self-sufficiency and reducing the island’s reliance on imported food.
Through this combination of agriculture, education, and agrotourism, the Culebra Eden Foundation envisions a future where the island can achieve true food sovereignty, empowering residents to take control of their food supply and economic well-being. By nurturing the land and fostering collaboration, we aim to create a healthier, more resilient community for generations to come.
